Testimonials

Since being a part of the Bonding Readiness Program, I have been able to grow my business and look towards a more profitable future and hopefully, early retirement!

  • I was able to secure Bonding through I.O.A. Northwest via Mr. Larry DePalma,
  • I was able to get approved for my first Business Funding Line of Credit through Mr. Alexander Quiceno at PNC Bank
  • Through networking at the program, I have many new working business relations with other Contractors that have benefited both my business and the other Contractor’s business.

Also, the OSHA 30 hour Training Program was critical in learning new safety tips and procedures to helping in prevent any accidents and switch to lower cost payment processing services. I would highly recommend the programs that are offered through the Small Business Development to anyone that wishes to grow their business and be as successful as they can be.

Dear Deborah Collins,

Congratulations to you (and your team)  for an outstanding Annual Report presentation on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Essex County's Office of Small Business Development and Affirmative Action has played a significant role in A3 Contracting, LLC's business growth over the past year.

A3 attained OSHA 30-hr and 10-hr certification in May 2012 and August 2012, respectively.  This achievement was made possible through your department's OSHA program initiative, with an immediate outcome seen in the following October whereby A3 was qualified to participate in the bidding process of a school construction project that required OSHA certification.

The information offered through your workshops and resource library have enriched our skill-sets in researching and preparing project bid(s).

I moved my business after 18 years in New York City, to Newark, New Jersey in 2001. My first few years in New Jersey was a major setback for my business because I was not known and I had very few business relationships, in New Jersey.

However, after much struggle, in later years I had an opportunity to attend an event held by the Essex County Office of Small Business Development, where I met Mr. Wes Coleman. Meeting and making contact with him, was one of the best thing that happened to me after moving to New Jersey. Mr. Coleman made me aware of workshops and training programs that not only helped me to improve my business knowledge and skills, but they also enabled me to do more networking and marketing of my business. The Essex County Office of Small Business Development has certainly lived up to it’s name with ROYEL MARKETING. It doe not matter if you have been in business for many, many years, there is still room for additional learning and growth for your business.

My thanks to Ms. Deborah E. Collins, Esq., Director, Mr. Wes Coleman, Compliance Manager, and staff for their inclusion and assistance.

I have had the great pleasure of working with Ms. Collins, Wes Coleman and the rest of the team now for over 5 years thru the Small Business Development and Affirmative Action office.

First, I cannot thank the team of SBD office, who gave me an opportunity to not only work for them as a compliance officer but also on numerous occasions I was asked to be one of her expert facilitators for the Bonding Program. This meets my goal personal goals to be able to give back and support other small businesses. As a result of continuously  working with  SBD office, Ms. Collins continues with or without a contract to send our company name out to individuals who are looking for strong small to mid size businesses. We are forever grateful for the support and the opportunity to serve the county of Essex in which we live and do business.

The Essex County Small Business Development Center have been instrumental in assisting our company in acquiring bonding and OSHA 30 readiness programs that have qualified us in bidding on larger projects. In the process we have been able to build relationships with bigger organizations and other contractors which has positioned our firm to compete better. We are truly grateful and recommend other small businesses in Essex County to take advantage of this support.

I have had the pleasure of participating in the first Bonding Readiness Program offered by Essex County. The program was extremely educational, insightful, and most important effective in my quest for bonding. At the conclusion of the program, I had a solid game plan on how to prepare my company for bonding.

The bonding company contacts that were introduced during the program resulted in 2 bonding companies offering there bonding services to my company. It was an important milestone in the growth of my company. I would not hesitate to recommend this program or for that matter any program that Essex County sponsors as they all are top notch programs geared to help small business owners.

The Essex County Office of Small Business Development and Affirmative Action offers training and resources for small businesses that are invaluable in my opinion. The courses and expert industry instructors have helped me better understand "hands-on" how and if I can do business with Essex County. Incredible networking opportunities have been created for my business here. When one door closed, another one would open. Now that new doors are open - the sky is the limit for me.
